Day 3–4: Something Strange Happened to My Focus
Around day three, something shifted. The constant itch to check something faded. Tasks stopped feeling slippery. When I sat down to work, I didn’t have to wrestle my attention into place.
My focus didn’t feel intense; it felt stable. That’s an important difference. Instead of short bursts of energy followed by crashes, I experienced long stretches of calm concentration.
I noticed this most while writing and planning. Ideas connected more naturally. I didn’t reread the same paragraph five times because my mind wandered. It felt like my brain had more RAM available.
Most people think focus is about forcing attention. In reality, it’s about removing what keeps pulling it away.
